Stick Insects

We had a visit from a couple of very interersting insects today.

They were very quiet, didn’t eat much and made no mess at all but they were very, very tricky to see.  It was hard to see which was the leaf and which was the insect! We even observed one swaying in the wind, just like a brown leaf. The baby one was very small so we left it in its cage. We even saw the outside skin of one which had shed its skin. There are still lots of eggs in the cage so we are expecting to hear all about the new baby stick insects soon. We discovered that they eat the gum leaves, they have 6 legs, antanae and 3 body parts and that the curled up tail bit is its abdomen. Fascinating.

Imaginitus is very catchy!

Just like Henry in Nick Bland’s story ‘When Henry Caught Imaginitus’  Prep H too have caught it. Prep B were very inspirational and so Prep H were able to have lots of fun imagining the letter ‘i’ as part of something completely different.
