Science Week – Food for our future: Science feeding the world.

This week is ‘Science Week’ and we have organized a couple of activities in the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden for the school to go and explore.

Prep W went to the garden with their Grade 5 buddies and had a wonderful time exploring the garden and looking at the leaves of different plants with mini microscopes and magnifying glasses. We also took back to our classroom an experiment we need to keep an eye on throughout the next couple of weeks. We are observing two cups with bean seeds planted in soil, one is watered with normal water and the other is watered with salt water. We are looking to see the affect salt has on growing vegetables in your gardens.

I am sure everyone who come along to our prep concert,”The Day the Crayons Quit”, were blown away with how talented and cute our preps are. The students worked so hard on their performances and on the night all their hard hard work was evident. A huge thank you goes to our Amazingly talented Performing Arts teacher for her creative mind and hard work with the students.
