Today in Little Ossies we have been VERY busy.
After we had finished our early morning routines of the school day we started the day in our classroom with some game playing, story writing, dramatic play and construction work. Then we joined together for a special story. This story is being read all around the country today as part of National Literacy and Numeracy Week. The story is called “Sunday Chutney” by Aaron Blabey. You can find a special version of this online by clicking on the link provided in this post.
After recess play time we joined a number of other the children in the school at a special Milo Cricket Clinic. Mr Pieters had organised with Cricket Victoria to come and do some special games with us. Little Ossies did games with Prep W. We had some relay races where we had to run, catch a ball, throw a ball and spin our bodies.
Then we split the group into halves and we all had a turn batting and fielding in a special style of cricket game.
At the end of our Cricket Clinic everyone was given a packet of milo and a Cricket Book – how lucky are we!
After our cricket session Little Ossies went on a special poetry walk. Some students from older grades in the school had placed out poems for us to find and read.
We even found poems which we knew were songs.
Lunch play was busy as well with some Little Ossies going to see a Talent Show put on by peer support. Then our regular classes of Art and ICT for the afternoon.
Phew! What a busy, fun and fantastic Friday!
